It's hump day!

I think I am officially over the hump. I have about 250 acres of beans left to plant and then I am done with the planter. The milo is about two inches tall and looking good. It feels good to finally have that much in the ground even if it is at least three weeks late. Four miles south they had 2 1/2 inches of rain last night, so I feel pretty lucky. Now if we can just get some timely rains to make it grow. Last year was weak - I really need a good year out of the beans!

Is anyone else still in the field planting?

oh yes. Mid tenn. and plenty of unplanted ground. Wheat just got combined last week near here. Lots of discing just got started & now the rains start.

I've been done planting for almost a month. I got the last of the Roundup sprayed yesterday and put the sprayer away.
I've got another 20 acres of hay on the ground right now, have to get that raked as soon as the dew is off. That makes 115 acres cut,45 to go.

Going to be too late for replanting after floods leave, lots and lots of acres gone. Thursday I wanter to go about 80 mile from home and in that distance there were at least 5 state or fedural highways closed due to high water. A lot of other aresa flooded as well, one town completely cut off with water.

Every one has been done in my area since memorial day, it has been raining here for the past 6 days, pouring down right now...
