Bees, birds, and mice will make a mess it needs screen wire inside. I think a Perkins Diesel would be better. It looks great though. Jim

I know irrigation systems that run that system all the time because dollar for dollar its cheaper than diesel.

NICE Emergency Power Plant. Actually, I MUCH PREFER PROPANE for an emergency genset since 1) Many people have a 500 or even more gallon tank around,,,,,,,,2) Sure beats trying to store gas which gets stale over time and/or draws moisture,,,,,,,,,,,3) Burns cleaner. Im not too interested if its a bit higher or cheaper versus gasoline, since you hardly use the genny and don't have to try and keep 100 + gallons of gas fresh.

NICE SET UP

Looks like a good setup, but as others have mentioned, rodents will be a problem. If it runs once a week to routine they may not bother the generator too much, but will love the rest of the building. I used to do the routines on several of our standby generators at work, and also babysit them when we had extended power outages. One of the biggest problems is that if there is a major problem, such as tornado, they shut off the natural gas supply due to all the damaged/missing meters. I see your line has a drip leg in it which is good, because natural gas lines have moisture in them that will accumulate in seldom used lines.

There is nothing that runs cleaner in an internal combustion engine than natural or LP gas. Is that an Oldsmobile engine?

I Like it a lot. An industrial quality (and quantity) set up. It looks like you either work in industrial electricity or know someone close to you who does.

I'm planning on building a large shop at our new place and back up power is a requirement. Your set up would allow my little operation to go on without a hiccup.
My back up power plan is to have enough to keep security, lights, water, vents and able to operate one machine shop tool at a time.
You could supply several shops at that level.
