Farmall m stuck valve

does anybody have any idea how to unstick a valve on a Farmall M it is currently running on 3 cylinders. somebody hammered the valve down which is where it currently sits and the spring will not push it back up.

Putting PB Blaster on the guide will help, as will just tiny tapping of the butt end (not to drive it deeper, but to jar it. Putting a cotton rope into the cylinder through the spark plug hole (maybe a foot of 3/8 rope) then bring the piston up by hand. using a pry bar on the starter ring gear teeth pressure can be applied to the valve pushing it upwards. Combine the ideas to get it loose. Time is on your side. Jim

Which valve?? Intake or exhaust?? Me I would sock it with ATF and then try to twist and pull it back up and then work it down and back up. If exhaust it makes it easier to get ATF to it then if intake

I had the same thing happen on an H once that had set for a while.

It's been years, but as I recall I soaked it with a penetrant, then tapped lightly on the valve to loosen it. If I remember right, I put a couple of pry bars over a piece of 2x4 to carefully pry up on the valve also. By tapping on it, pulling up on it, and applying penetrant, I worked it loose.

Once I had it loose to a point where it snapped back when I tapped on it, I put the rocker arm back in place and fired 'er up and let it run until it was acting normal.
