On Wednesday, I had a visitor (3:30 PM) that I had a heck of a time to get rid of!
He kept standing on his hind legs, then dropping down and slamming his front feet on the ground.

He did not want to leave the deck.
He kept stomping his front feet and snorting - sort of a "Bluff Charge".

I never knew if he was really bluffing though.
He was doing this as I was taking pictures - just very hungry, I guess.

We've had a young male black bear make his way down from Northern Michigan and has been videoed and photographed in towns along the St. Joe river, crossing the river near our place and now sighted in Northern Indiana. (Maybe headed to Soldier Field?) The night before the paper reported his swim nearby, every other animal around the place was acting weird- the cows and cats were downright jumpy!?! (dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!)

Seems he has a real appetite for bird seed/feeders. The DNR is very concerned he does not equate humans with food- bad for both parties.

Well, if he looked hungry then why didn't you give him something to eat??? Thats what all the tourists around here do?!?! :/
