I was at my brothers on Sunday, took a couple pics of the operation from the hill. He's got a good pile of balage stacked up so far. First photo is the new parlor-freestall dairy barn, second photo is panning right to the stanchion dairy barn Dad built in 1972, my house is above it in the distance, panning right to the third photo is the homestead house, barn, and outbuildings established in 1882. Last photo is a closer look at the baleage cluster. Located in Western PA.

What do you know about the balage? What moisture percent? What equipment do they use? Any issues?

Baleage is basically the same as grass silage in wrapped bales in stead of pushed and packed into a silo. A friend has a new round baler that not only rolls it but also chops it so that it can be just dropped into the mixer wagon and it readily falls apart to make the TMR (total mixed ration).
