Safety switch override

I have a JD X540 garden tractor that I bought new this past fall. I am trying to figure out how to override the safety switch that will not allow the tractor to go in reverse with the deck engaged. I know you can lift up the PTO before going in reverse and this will allow the deck to keep operating. However, this is a pain and I find more times than not that my timing is off and the deck disengages. On a previous mower (JD GT235) I was able to successfully override this safety switch. I have "googled" this, but have not found anything that helps me. Can anyone help?

If its the little yellow button on the dash, all it takes is to touch it just as you push on the reverse petal. Using it might keep you, or some other operator from mowing over a kid or dog.

Half of a wooden cloths pin under the PTO switch to hold it up will disable the reverse feature. The actual switch is inside the frame under the steering column. You will need the deck off to get to it.
