New Idea neon sign

Recently acquired this sign. I know it's rough, but I have a sign shop that can put it back together. My question is does anyone know what color the neon is supposed to be? Thanks in advance. Also, if anyone has one, could you please email me a picture of it. [email protected]

I can't help you with the color or a sample but I could only think of one place that works on vintage neon signs. It's in columbia, TN. Is that where yours is going?
 
No, I have a sign shop up here in Traverse City, MI that does all my sign work. He does neon too. He likes to do it for me because he doesn't get to do much of it anymore.
 
Be aware, those tubes operate at high voltage. Low amperage, but as I remember 15,000 volts or something. Might not kill you if you touch the bare wires, but will sure light up your life. Been my experience.
 
Hi Doug. As you know , I have been around farm machinery all my life and I have never seen a New Idea sign like yours. Seen plenty of flat tin ones tho.
I am wondering if you have a very old one there? Anyway a good find. clint
 
Clint, I knew it was not in good shape, but I also knew I didn't want to see it thrown away. Kurt Aumann told me he has only seen maybe a couple at most. Someone on another post here said they were reddish color. I thought red New Idea and green Farm Equipment would look sharp since those were their colors.
