A neighbour asked today if I could disk 30 acres of corn stuble/standing corn.....i said why not, ole bessy hasn't probably kicked up her heals in quite a while. yeah, I know the cockshutt disks are in rough shape....they do work good....maybe that should be a rebuild project soon. I do have a complete set of blades for it, it does need new boxes and proper tires. Who wants to guess how Manny gallons of gas per hour gets burnt?

Well, I figured in fuel cost pretty close then. Here, hi-test works out to $4.90/ gallon or more.

I had mine on the Bush Hog last fall, and it was all over the hood tall,5 gal. an hour is right on the nose.

Sounds like i'll enjoy gettin' my fix of listening to that 263 work away, and pick up a few bucks as well. I'm pulling a cockshutt 241 10' disk with 10 100lb magnum weights on the bracket. Soil is high sand into clay loam.
