Got close enough to go home today, even tho I wasn't scedualled til thursday, but more rain is predicted so I went home so I could plant my beans. When we finnished corn it was a bit early for beans, but it has been mostly steady rain since. Last week I got home and plowed the field, but it was still wet so I left it hoping it would dry. Sadly it rained over an 1 1/2" right after and today ot was still wet, but as late as it is I decided to plnt it anyway. Most should grow, but one corner of the field is not likely to grow because it was muddy. Got to use my old dc that was my dad's and I spent many hours on as a kid.

Planting beans.

What model drill is that? Only see IHC, JD, and ocational MM and Oliver around me.

Nice.

My last planted just came up today. But I sweated a lot on the early planted, had some sprouting when it froze here. The corn is growing out of the damage, the beans seem ok from it.

Good for you. They should do pretty well. We in the upper midwest haven't had a fun time getting the beans in. I just came in from finishing my last field a half hour ago. It is a 60 acre field I call my Luisiana Swamp Land because, well you get the idea. The landlady happens to live in New Orleans.

It's a Case, I'm not sure the model, but with the painted boxes I believe it's a war years vintage. The later models had galvanized boxes.

That drill might be older than the existence of soybeans in this state. Or pretty close either way.

Funny. ;)

I'd love to do that! I'm still a couple of dry days away from planting. The planter has been hooked to the 7800 for a month now. In May we only had three days without rain. I think it is supposed to rain tonight so it will be a no go again. I'm already planning on taking prevented planting on a couple of fields. I haven't seen a year like this here since '93.

I will be planting with a JD 4320 with a 4-row 36 buffalo no till slot planter. Hope to be done on the weekend June 6-7. W too have been too wet to plant.
