You are right. I've had several 3.0's with the od trans.
The sticky/rusty kickdown pivot has been the death of many of these transmissions. A little dab of used engine oil with an old paint brush on the pivot at every oil change will keep it working freely.

Good luck with getting that done at most service centers.



Thanks hillbillyjack. I have a 91 Caravan with 170k on original engine and tranny that had been sitting a few months. Then when I put it in drive the gas peddle was stuck. Would not press in past idle. In neutral or reverse it worked fine. as you pointed out it was the kickdown link between thew accelerator and the transmission was rusted-stuck. a little lube and working it back and forth with a small pair of channel locks made it good as new. THANKS for your post! Before finding your post I didn't even know what that linkage was for or how it turned.
