DETAILED PICS Of NORTH WESTERN DAVIS 100 LOADER And FORD 9N

Here are some of the pictures we have taken of our North Western Davis Model 100 Front End Loader. Although we have provided some of these pictures on another discussion of us asking how to install it onto a Ford 9N, 8N, 2N Tractor, we wanted to provide more pictures of the loader and our tractor along with asking people to upload their pictures which will specifically shows others like us who are needing to know exactly how (1) to hook up the loader's hydraulic pump to tractor with the drive shaft which runs off of the engine's crank shaft in order to drive the hydraulic pump (2) the brackets as well as other parts which may be needed to hook up the rear part of the loader's frame to the tractors rear axle (3) the brackets as well as other parts which may be needed to hook up the front part of the loader's frame to the tractor's front end.

You are missing the rear brackets which attach to the underside of the rear axle, using the fender bolts, and the front bracket.

I have those parts for a similar loader I don't have mounted on a tractor, and can take a picture later today when I get to the farm, if you would like and post it tonight or tomorrow.

I don't know where you could find those parts, but I could post dimensions later, if that would help in having some made up.

Thanks Bob...sounds great! Any help is certainly appreciated!

The rear brackets should be fairly easy to draw up and fabricate although would still like to see pictures of the rear brackets to help in making sure that we design them with the proper guage steel and amount of reinforcement :) but yes would definitely like to see the brackets and dimensions for mounting these beasts onto the front end of the tractor...from what bracket I see was left on the front end of my tractor (which I'm told was most likely for a Wagner loader instead of a Davis loader) it's hard to believe that would be able to handle the weight of the loader itself not to mention the loader having a load in it too

I had an 8N that ran off the front pump. My neighbor owns it now so I will try to get pics
tomorrow for you. To run the loader pump off the front of the crank there is a round hub
that bolts to the front of the crank. It is has a splined 'female' hole in the center.
Then there is a stub shaft that goes from the hub to your pump. My shaft stripped out
once. Amazingly enough I just went to the local New Holland dealer and they had one to
match! Go on EBAY, type in '8N hydraulic pump drive hub' or 'drive shaft.' You'll see
what I mean. Have fun!

Yep, I found the couplers, drive shafts, and a couple other misc parts for attaching the loader's hydraulic pump on Ebay and a couple other websites. I noticed they had 2 or 3 different length shafts for various applications and so I would just need to line up the loader with the tractor and then take measurements from the engine's crank pulley out to the coupler on the hydraulic pump to know what length drive shaft would properly fit mine.

Well I want to thank everyone who lended a helping hand...it felt good to know there are still people out there who don't mind taking their time to share information :) , and with that being said I recently have talked with a couple guys on here who put one of these loaders on their Ford 9n/8n and they had some really good points by saying that although the Davis 100 loader can be hooked up to the Ford 9n and be used for what it was made to do, this particular loader is quite heavy and puts a lot of stress on several different parts on the tractor and so we were thinking it would be best just to use our 9n for post hole digging and misc other work, and to look around for a little bit bigger tractor which would handle this Davis loader with more ease. They both mentioned looking for a newer tractor possibly in the 1960's/1970's including the Case, Massey Ferguson, and Ford model 335, 2000, & 3000 but we would also like to hear what others think would be a better candidate for this loader than the Ford 9n keeping in mind me and my wife are on social security disability and so the budget would only allow us about a total of 2,000 for another tractor and would take us about a year or so to save it up.

I don't know what that loader would fit, but here is my 'short list' of older tractors with
modern features. Oliver 550, Massey 135, Ford 3000. I found the Oliver first, therefor
that is what I use. You'd be happy with any of them.
