Some of our local schools have a tractor day. The kids get to drive a tractor to school. So Jeff's hired man asked to take the 1850. Skippy said the oldest tractor there was a Farmall M in original paint. From the picture Skippy had on his phone the M looked to have been in really nice shape. There was Jeff's 1850 and a 1,000 series Ford, looked like it was about 4,000 size. There was also a Case, don't know the size. The other three tractors were new stuff, JD's and CIH's. Skippy said he wanted to take the 1850 so he could show up with a real tractor. I had to laugh at that because he probably would have said the same thing if he had showed up with a Farmall Cub. At any rate there was all ages and sizes of tractors there for the day. Neat.
Yes, we call him Skippy. His mother made the mistake of telling Jeff (with both of Jeff's kids present) that he used to skip to the school bus when he was a littler gaffer and she nick-named him "Skippy". Henceforth, I don't think any of us have ever called him by his name. Good thing the kid has a sense of humor. (smile)
