The rear main on my farmall cub spun out of the retainer it won't stay in how to get it to stay in I have tried silicone and didn't work

silicone probably worst thing to use, it's pretty slippery,...if you can get it cleaned something like high tac will work

Not exactly sure what "rear main" is referring to. I have had good luck tightening loose bearings by cleaning, using a puncture wound punch to expand the surface and locktite. Will work for seals also.

A new seal will simply spin in the housing just like the old one, and the sealers are only short term fixes. You can either buy a new retainer or send your old one to a member of the Farmallcub.com forum who straightens them and machines it for an oversize seal and installs it.
