What is the best/fun farm theme related contest you have seen or participated in at your local fair?

Here in So. central Mn. I am the only one in the county that raises spring wheat. Every one else is row crops. So about 20 years ago I entered a sheave of wheat in open class at the county fair. Since mine was the only entry I won grand champion. Don't remember exactly but I think the prize was $2.00.

I remember taking a shock of corn in a 5 gallon bucket to the fair for Vo-Ag,,it was real nice and the tallest for sure "except" for the one setting on a wash tub turned over with a sheet up around it,,and they won,,,my first example of deception...

Get teams four or five several age groups.Wheel barrow race obstacle course with blind folded driver,eggs over a high divider and try to catch them,hay bale stacking timed event,four or five push brooms make them stand in a teepee,fill a small tub with water out of hydrant with pails of water timed,lariett rope a dummy steer with horns,jump in a kids pool of water,Each kid can pick one of these things to do as a teammates,fastes one wins .Give out some prizes.I flunked sentence structure.This is some of the things we do.

The most fun thing I remember was a two man team event at the classic tractor scramble at our county fair where the driver was blind folded and the partner rod on the tractor and tried to navigate him through cones with a hay wagon then had to back it at a 90 degree bend into a "shed". I don't think think anyone completed it with running over several cones but I was probably 11 or 12 and it was one memory of my dad and papaw (moms dad) before they got divorced and I can't really remember having any more of a fun time than we did that day.

I was the only one with Montadale sheep at our country fair, I cleaned up in the registered classes.
