Liberty beans

I'm using some liberty beans for the first time this year. I've always just used roundup ready and thrown in Cobra. We've had a foot of rain in the last few weeks and all of the burn down I did was wasted. I didn't use preemergent with it - usually don't. Didn't expect this hot mess.

Here's my question: is there any reason I can't use the Liberty spray as burn down in those fields where I had bad ragweed and mares tail? Burn down was WEX, roundup, and Defy (at a quart to the acre). It appears to have just dinged the tops of the mares tail north of the house. That field has been by nemesis the last coue of years. It needs to go no till but I'm about to disk it to China instead of spray again. The mares tail was unbelievable at harvest in it last year.

Anyway, other than cost is there a reason I can't use it wil RR beans? I'm sure there is wait time, but there was with 24D.

not sure what you are askin, round-up is not a burn down for liberty, you went with liberty to get away from round-up. you will have to use liberty spray system for liberty link beans....why did you change?? around here on my type of soil liberty has a low bpa RR3 are much better bpa. mairstail can be taker care of with valor,lv6, round-up, 7 days befor planting. no need to go with liberty and less bpa.

First you said you have Liberty beans, at the end you said with roundup beans. So I'm scared to answer and mess you up, as I'm not sure of the question?

For a couple years Liberty was very hard to get up here for my Liberty beans because southerners were buying it all as a pre burn down. I gave up on using Liberty beans because of it.

So I assume it works, if I understand your question, as a burn down before planting anything.

It would not work so well here; Liberty works well in hot weather, over 80. We've only had one hot day so far. Not supposed to make it out of the 40s on Tuesday. Would be worthless spraying Liberty that day, does nothing in cooler weather. Here it is late June or July before we get the heat to work with Liberty.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I have been RR for lots of years. Some of my fields were getting impossible to control because of resistance. Because of cost I wanted to switch over just a few acres (about 250 of the worst) to Liberty and go RR with the rest.

I wasn't thinking of using Liberty spray on RR beans, but would use it for but down on those RR acres that have tough spots as long as it doesn't have long carryover for the RR beans and cause me to end up with nothing. As wet as things are now it is fine if it has a two week wait. That's nothing right now. I just had to try thre different ways to get to town due to water over roads.

I have been using Liberty/ignite as a burn down for years in Tn.There is no carry over a lot of times I will spray one day and plant a day or two after.I have start using Paraquat again because of the price of Liberty if I can't get in early to spray with Glyphosate and Dicamba and have a 3 or 4 week wait for carryover.
