Over=Run Coupler - A Good One?

Bought a Indian over-run coupler two years ago, [ it's all I could find ] only use it for mowing 3 acres of tall grass, no brush, no saplings, etc., and the shaft is starting to twist badly. I'm gonna stop, afraid it'll fail, and let the drive shaft and 'Hog run wild. What's a good heavy-duty coupler, and where to get it? Thanks guys.

FBH44,

I don't know if it's any better than any of the rest, but I've had two over-running clutches that I've bought over the past 15 years. I lost the first one a couple of years ago somewhere out in the "outback". It was still working, but I never did find it.

I bought both of them at TSC and just took what they had. If I needed another one, I'd get it at TSC. I don't think there was any brand name on them, but if there was, I don't know what it was.

I can't answer you about the ORC but if you are twisting the shaft, take a look at the shaft slip clutch if it has one. It should prevent the shaft from twisting.

I was surprised to find there are no bearings in them. The inner piece with the external splines is just a close fit to the bore of the outer piece, so be sure to keep it greased. I had mine for about 5yrs when I noticed a little wobble so I took the snap ring off and took it apart thinking I could replace bearings, I just put it back together and still use it.
