April showers bring May flowers

Had to mow this morning. I'm a flower child of the 60's and still enjoy flowers. Great view while mowing.

Yes, made 60 above ground concrete posts. 175 #each. Got the sand and gravel out of our old abandon gravel pit, which the boss is on a mission to fill with flowers too.

I've never seen flowers like yours, nice. What are they called and what part of the country are you from? Are they a wild flower?

Never heard of bubble gum irisis. The ones in the small circle are hardy German's. They are double bloomers, spring and fall. Don't know the names of the rest. The boss doesn't have enough flowers. Some day I won't have to mow, all flowers. Everything is lined with flowers, around trees, all buildings, and where ever she wants. I even bought a sod cutter. Makes it easier to make new flower beds. The little terramite comes in handy too.

Looks great! Sadly I just mowed my "field" of daffodils that decided to come up in the middle of my yard. I leave them until they are done blooming, then mow time.

I let my daffodils die all the way so they put some energy back in the bulb before I mow
them.

nice pics
Planting tiger lilies or similar around all my buildings,
let me retire the hateful weedwhacker.
Mower deck slides right under the leaves, or even mow the edge of em.
nothing hurts em, and they can choke out most weeds.

I too retired the weed whacker and use flowers. Putting flowers around trees helps
save trees too. Kick the trunk of a tree with a mower will eventually kill the tree. Not
to mention no need for a ZTR to go around trees. Plant enough irises, witch have shallow
roots, and no need for a sharp turning, ruff ridding ZTR.
Sometimes I use ditch lilies, tiger lilies.
Tiger lilies will eventually kill all other flowers.
