I found this filter bowl among FIL's old stuff. DUREX made by Morraine Products Div. How old do you think it is?

Moraine Products Div. was a part of GM, later in the 50's became Delco-Moraine Div. They were the brake supplier to GM for years. Located in Dayton, OH. I would guess 30's or 40's.

Aside from brake components, Delco Moraine made engine bearings, etc.

What is left is not part of Delphi.

Just needs a little TLC. Seriously, I would clean it up and keep it, or, if you are not so inclined, there are lots of folks who do collect such things.

Looks like it was an aftermarket part available through Chev dealers in late 40s. If you search use Moraine filter and not simply Moraine. That is unless you want to see baaaad stuff. :shock:

The aluminum casting is pitted and the cork is falling apart, but that's what I'm going to do with it.
