I mess my ford f-250 super duty

About a month ago I had some problems with my 2006 F-250 super duty diesel engine 6.0. I put my Auto mind to work and changes some stuff on it that the codes said to do. Drove the truck around but it was still acting up so I took it in to the delarship to get service. This past couple of week I have title shure HELL The meachanice had done work that in my book was not really needed all he had to do was read his codes. This is now what they have done to the truck one pulled valve covers off that is 500.00 dollors Why did they do that I ask dummy plug where done two years ago. Reprogram FICUM 200.00 dollars and then the final job was a high pressure pump which just the part is 650.00 with a 200.00 core charge. I hope today I get the truck back so I can start moveing my tractor around on the trailer. I have been useing my stock 1966 G.M.C (which is my car show truck)for hauling plants and other stuff it is fun to listen to the guys as they load it up with the stuff. They are amazed that I am useing the truck.

I hope you can get your truck back without big $$ spent. My neighbor really struggled with his for a while.

Your GMC is really nice. Great trucks to cruise around in. I restored a 61 and a 63 a few years back.

Which leads to the very interesting question, are they mechanics or just parts changers. I can be a parts changer. Because my diagnostic skills are not very good. The "mechanic" should have diagnostic skills so un-needed parts are not swapped out and undue time taken to repair. YOU DON"T always get what you think you are paying for. jmho gobble

My 2011 is not shifting right in 3rd. It surges bad. It is like going through a shift and clutch pack on my deeres. I put a chip and egr delete to try to get mileage but it did NOT happen. The egr delete was nopt compatable and I have to run max. I have a neighbor that wants his 2014 chipped and offered it to him if he would put mine back stock. I got this done at River City in Peoria that everyone said were the best. I should have gone to the river boat with the money instead. Very big disappointment from a so called reputable outfit.

I tell all the ford dealers, that I see why they do not put the fuel mileage on the windows. I am geting from 9 on the low end to 16 VERY best on the high end empty with cruise.

(quoted from post at 14:02:03 05/12/15) My Ford works every day. Has never let me down.

But is it new enough to have been 'designed' by the EPA?

I just got mine back after paying $2002.00 for dummy plugs and four new injectors. it had been cranking around five seconds to start, and they had told me before that I had injectors that were not popping like they should.
