Walker Mower

I like the looks of a Walker Riding mower. Also, the swing up deck, the dumping setup, and operator seating with deck in front.
I currently have a Wheel Horse Lawn Tractor and a Gravely G16 Tractor with bagging systems.
These two mowers are the best I have ever owned and have owned them for many years but have problems with cleaning the deck after use and getting off and emptying the bags.
I am looking at used Walkers and every one has had the engines changed, some with less then 500 hours.
It appears they have a cooling problem, considering how the engine is located.
As I stated, I am looking for confidence, both my mowers are in top condition but somewhat difficult to maintain and operate.
As I have worked on lawnmower for many years, I know what is out there, just want opinions of Walker.

Walker's look to me to be a good unit. Only thing I don't like about them is the timed deck. I dealt with one of these on a early Snapper Garden tractor (Think Massey Ferguson
not the rear engine riders) Every time you go over a stump or some other obstruction you were stopping to replace the shear pins.

Other than that look at your dealer situation. I hope to be buying a Grasshopper later this month. They also make a pretty good looking unit and the dealer network in my area
was a definite tipping point. Three active Grasshopper dealers within 60 miles and only one for Walker. Would like to buy from local that sells Country Clipper but he is the
only one in the area and I think he is nearing retirement. That and the lack of a out front deck have made my decision to Grasshopper.

That is just my local situation and yours will of course be different.

You will like the deck out in front as it makes trimming under trees a breeze.

Good Morning Jiles

I think that you would like the Walker Mower . #1 They are made in Fort Collins Colorado . I know One of the Walkers Boys . I have worked on them
from 1986 until 1995 in a shop . I liked the ease of working on them . The only thing is if you have a problem with the Engine or a transport
problem you must dump the hopper to be safe . The other thing I like about the unit is that the company is Family owned . If they see a area that
can be improved is that they make a running change with update kits for retro fitting the earlier units or they used to .
I don t know of a better made unit.

No I am not related or am I a representative for them . They make the best unit that I know of .
The reason I quit working on them was because I went to work for the Mesa Public School System for more money & retirement benefits .

Jiles Here they are considered to be the top of the line mower, low slung to hug the side hill, good parts supply if you ever need them, but not cheap to buy.
