That's what my wife says. "Drive the new one".................however, the Power-Stroke cost too much to get it dirty. :>)

Shouldn't be too tough to find an axle. Chevies are as common as they come.

Another harvest story. Rear axle bearing went out on my 79 Dodge W200 east of Grand Island Ne. Got so hot the axle was wrecked. Where do we find a rear axle with a 4:10 ratio (full time 4WD) on a Saturday afternoon on the plains of Nebraska! Where do we find a Dodge rear axle period! There happened to be one in a little salvage yard about five miles back. in probably two and a half hours the Dodge was humming down the road again with a new axle. It was pulling the tool trailer so we had everything we needed to change in on the side of a gravel road. We still talk about that one.

Shove axles in, pull that cover and put some "lincoln" c-clips back on!

For real may as well slap a full float out of a 3/4 in there instead of another semi-float. Costs the same at the scrapyard.

For now, I'm just gonna take a tractor up there, lift it up with the hitch and drag 'er home. Its only 'bout 4 miles.

Sure is a sad picture. One that's seen far too often on American highways. Might be better off just burying her where she lies.......

RIP

Looks like you could just switch to dogsled for basic transportation. I saw that happen to a Suburban a few years back, just outside of town. Bet you had a surprised look on your face.

Dogs thoughts "ah flip. I have to walk back to the house in this white crap? I thought we were drying for the winter. If he only would have bought a ford........"

I am being sarcastic today, but I've always been a Ford man.

Just think of how much easier it is to get in the box! Personally never cared for the adjustable width rear axles. Worst part is the long walk

Look on the bright side, at least your dog is okay. I was working outside today in the city and a car jumped over the curb, cut across the grass and was heading straight toward myself and two co-workers. It then veered to the side of us, went through an alley, went through more grass and then crossed the curb again and stopped on the street. We went over to the car thinking there was a medical problem with the driver. The driver told us that he had just gotten his car out of the shop for brake repair.
I guess when he took off again, he was heading back to the shop.
