Check it out! This is what my 1941 JD B looked like last Saturday:

Got it cleaned up yesterday and primered. Then shot it today... Looks/feels REALLY good! :)

Can't wait to get the rear wheels painted and slid on tomorrow... Going to look like a really sharp tractor!!! Now we just need to put the engine back together, and get it running... Should be a great little tractor! :)

Then I was out moving some stuff around, and mom wanted to get a picture of me, so, I thought I would share it too! Looks like a calendar worthy shot to me, but I'll let you guys judge that! :)

That is lookin good. I spent tons of hours on a 41 B and started driving it when I was 7. Later I cultivated 100 acres of corn with it and a 2 row hand lift cultivator 3 times a year for 3 years. We always used it to pull our 11A combine. I always remember the PTO shaft had a slight twist in it. It was one tough tractor.

Great looking tractor. I have owned lots of brands over the years, but those 2 bangers are the most fun to work with. It is amazing the torque and power they put out. Hilled up my taters yesterday with my 42 JD H. Grew up on a 49 A and that thing was unstoppable. Would lug down in a tight pull, but don't ever remember it stalling out.
Enjoy. Richard in NW SC

I spent a lot of time on a B with a 2 row cultivator as well. Ours was a '43 and had a power lift, but running in low gear when the corn was only 2 inches high was the most tedious thing there was for a teenager wired for high mph. LOL
Looking good Bryce.

Looks nice.

I'm sure several are thinking that jack and block don't look any too good there, be nice to have one more solid block on that side like you have on the other.

None of us like the safety police or to be told what to do, me either, but just a thought with a smile on my face......

Well, he is still kind of right though! Last thing I need is a bunch of gravel stuck to my tractor!!! :p

Actually I am usually VERY good with blocks and stuff, neighbor bout killed himself when a plow came down on him.

This one is on that huge cedar block on the other side, and me and my dad pushed and shoved on the tractor to literally see if we could make it fall off, and it wasn't going anywhere...

Going to pop the other front wheel/hub off this morning so that I can get it all painted up, yeller of course! :)

With my luck I'd try cutting another slice of tree block and end up hurting myself with the chainsaw trying to be careful with the tractor..... ;)

She's getting there, paint looks good. Be careful with anything heavy that can fall, it hurts, even if you're not under it. A B is a very handy size tractor, power enough for lots of lighter jobs and very maneuverable in a tight spot. My 1944 B is my "go to" tractor for just about anything. Been 30 years since I painted it, doesn't look so good nowadays.

Hi Bryce Nice looking tractor so far, Just remember that a jacks a mechanical device and failure is an option at any point ;-). The other thing you should be worried about is what did Casey do with the this ones mine Card. You could in theory be loosing this tractor Real quick if she pulls the card on you now L.O.L.
Even although its the wrong shade of blue for me, I'm still looking forward to seeing the rest of the pictures when it's done.
Regards Robert

Believe it or not, she is going to be the "ceremonial" first driver of it. She hasn't seen it at all, nor does she know that I am even working on it (because she is on vacation).

SO, as soon as I am done with the painting, and it is mobile again, it is going to hide in the shop, and she just won't go in there until it is all done! :)

Not sure how she will do with the hand clutch... Might be interesting... :)

Just tell her slow and easy, no fast push and forward to go, remember that forward in walking is like putting one foot in front of the other. for stopping pull back as hard and fast as she can and if she cannot get the clutch dissenguaged male sure tractor is idleing and not reved up and push on both brakes evenly till stopped, engine running or dead. The cultch that getts confusing is the one that you pull to go forward and push to stop, just backward of natraual reaction.

Yep! You are right!

When mom first tried to drive my other B, she made it about 3 feet and decided she wanted to stop, well she just shoved the left brake in! And of course, these little tractors turn pretty easy, so she just started spinning in slow motion in the driveway..... :) Was pretty funny at the time!

I will of course be right there with Casey. She is pretty new to the stuff, so I have to break her in easy! :)
