OT - Grass and Weed ID Question

Looking over my hay fields today and there is a short grass growing, that has already gone to seed! It's about 8-12 inches tall, pretty thin in stand. Can anyone identify it? My Dad thought it might be bluegrass - I don't have a clue what it is.

There is also a weed (or flower) that has a small bright yellow cup to it. Anyone know what this is? There is a little bit of it scattered around the field.

Thanks!
Bill

Can't really tell from the photos, but there is a weed/grass called (around here) annual bluegrass. Grows quite early in the spring.

The first picture is vernal grass. This is a grass that is really becoming more prolific here in KY. We thrash and clean fescue seed and I am seeing it in just about all seed samples. Have not found a spray for it yet. Second photo is of what we call corn buttercup. Another relatively new weed around here that thrives where there is any overgrazed pasture. This weed is easy to control with 24d before bloom.
