No pictures but it looks like we are going to have a bumper crop this year.Just wanted you to know. I am planning to pick a bunch of them and send them to Old so he can make jelly.
Ron

I would much rather have dewberries.
A lot more product for the time spent picking them.
Although I have seen many call dewberries blackberries because they did not know the difference.

And while jelly is good; dewberry cobbler is much better.
Different strokes for different folks.

You're right, John--nothing can beat dewberries. Mine here are about a week from being ready. There's about two acres of them across my back fence. Billions of berries.

By the way, where is Mike(WA)? Don't recall seeing him around lately.

So far it is looking good here also. But it is starting to get to dry here which is not good for a good crop of them. So I guess your saying you really like that stuff. So how about the Jalapeno Jelly you tried it yet???

Hey John, I have never heard of dewberries but as good as Blackberry jelly is, and old makes some of the best, Elderberry is the best. But talk about work intensive.
Ron

The blackberry is great but almost gone. The wife grabbed up the Jalapeno and said we are saving this for Christmas to eat with cream cheese.
Ron

Ah so she told you that you can not try it till Dec. Then right?? Neighbor gave us 2 or 3 gal bags of frozen black berries the other day and I will probably can them up or make Black berry wine out of them

It has been a running joke with Me and Mike ever since he posted instructions on how to kill berrys and my last name happens to be Berry. I know he posted a couple of weeks ago.
Ron

When we first got married eons ago, my wife and I would put up enough blackberries to have one cobbler pie a week.

Mine look good in north central TX this year. Lost a few blooms from hail, but still got a good crop. I picked 25 gallon year before last but didn't have enough for a pie last year. Late freeze got them.

rbnsc, you're one of the few that I've run across who knows the delights of elderberries; as a kid my grandmother used to make me a pie or cobbler from them since I was the only one that liked them and took the time to gather them, good memory. PS- think Mike(WA) got spanked a couple of weeks ago, although the site comments post is now MIA.
