My Cornish Cross will be a week old tomorrow. It's a little later start than I like. Butchering isn't
until the 17th of June that way. I hope the heat doesn't take too many.

Wife's a cook, and I showed her. She's not interested in raising chickens anymore. Been eying to convince her to get a few but it looks like that ship has sailed.

notjustair- That's what happened to me last year, days started heating up and I would have 1 or 2 die each day. So, I started these Cornish Cross in March to beat the heat. Haven't lost one yet and hope to butcher around the second or third week of May. Dang, they really pack on the pounds fast.

Good luck to you. Hope you do great with them.

Fatjay- My sister is the same way. I offered to butcher some for her and
she refused. She says she only wants it if it is packaged and has Tyson
labels.

I have a gal that butchers and packages for 1.95 a bird. It is well worth it if I am doing a flock. My hands don't hold up to that much work if there are a bunch. One or two are fine, but a lot of them - the money is well worth it.
