I'm looking for a little help on a recent adventure. I'm doing a little work on this 644 that was brought in a week ago. It looks like it belongs in a museum as far as condition. The questions I have are on the hydraulic system. What oil and is there a filter? I've searched and searched and cannot find a filter. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks guys

No filter. Just annual changes will keep it running.

20w40 was the original spec, engine oil, NOT hydraulic fluid.

That viscosity is hard to find, most of us Case guys use 15w40 or 20w50, depending on local temps and condition of the pump and drive motor.

Suggest you repost this on the Garden tractor forum. There is a expert on Case/Ingersoll products on the forum. With respect to the hydraulics filter, I don't think the early units had one but that the later Ingersolls did. There is also a Ingersoll website that has all the manuals online.
