Did you or Do you have Nick-names for any of your tractors?

Before I was born My dad had an International 350 I believe it was which he nick-named "The Little Fat Tractor". the Farmall "A" which I grew up on was always called the "Little A". The 560 Diesel was just called "The Diesel".

That's my dad and older brother on the little fat tractor. Then there is a picture of the Little A and The Diesel sitting in the background. Oh yes that is my older brother sitting in a Bushel Basket. We had 100's of those baskets since dad was a fruit and vegetable farmer plus grain farmer.

What were your tractors' nicknames?

My grandfather had a 460 that needed a carb kit for years and years. Every time it would die on him he would always yell "You Puke!" Every time.

My great-grandpa had a home-made tractor that the family called Cal, after Calvin Coolidge who reportedly said, "I do not choose to run".

Not the most inventive but the four used most often by my Dad and I (three of them are at least necessary, since they're all WD45's!)
Grandpa's 45: the WD45 that belonged to my grandpa.
45 with Powerstering: the WD45 with factory Power steering.
LP 45: the WD45 that can run on LPG.
The 15: An AC D15.

1949 Farmall C "CeeCee"

1954 40T "Bouncer"

1952 Farmall Super C "Speed Racer"

1947 Farmall H "The Devil"

1974 Ford 4400 Hoe/Loader "Pig"

1986 Kawasaki Bayou 300 4 wheeler "The Black Knight"

Other than that, they are just called by their names... Just because I can't remember my nick names for them!!

I havent named a tractor yet, but I do name some trucks. Bringing home this 1953 Dodge B3GA I named it "Mr. Peanut", for obvious reasons.

When I was little I named my Dad's tractors. As a little guy of 4 or there abouts, I named his Case VA "the Happy tractor", I guess it sounded happy when it fired up.The 35 Cockshutt was called "gashog" ,Must have over heard Dad say something about the Cockshutt some time ,and it stuck in my head. My older brothers,10 , 130 and 15 years older than I, thought this was so funniy that they always called the two tractors by the silly names I stuck on them. We now referr to our two Kubota tractors as "Big Orange" and "little Orange"

Sorry, can't print the name we had for the '48 JD G - it would make the post go poof! We just called the Case DC4 "Teddy Roosevelt" for obvious reasons.

My dad told me they had a Farmall F-12 when he was a kid that they called "the gutless wonder". He and his brothers had wanted my grandpa to buy a John Deere.

We had a Dc case we called Lina, a moline we called fat albert, and dad's favorite a 730 case he called the little hustler.

I had many names for those darn no starting 2-9-8n totally worthless fords mom made me run for the neighbor, she always wondered where I learned to swear.

I bought an Oliver 88 in Archbold Ohio one time. Had a dealer decal from Napoleon Ohio,so I called in Josephine.

Only one we ever had a name for was an Oliver 70. Unfortunately, I can't print it here.

Neighbours had a IH 585 called Peppy. The 484 after it I can't recall the name, wasn't nice though. The JX70 was Peppy-deux. The old beat to pieces 584 after that was called $%^tty Peppy.

He also called his chainsaw, Jackie Chansaw. There were a few others but I can't recall.

I used to pull an A Farmall that I called Pig.

Glad to see the Peanut-mobile is still around. Back in the early 1970's I knew the Actor, Wm. "Bill" Bagdad who played the
part of Mr. Peanut in all the commercials. He's resting peacefully now at the Sawtelle V.A. Cemetary in Los Angeles and has
been for many years.

I found it interesting to hear everyones' nicknames of tractors they have or grew up with...Glad to hear we weren't the only ones back home.

never really thought about naming tractors.
I guess I have thought some.
Any tractor, with the implement in the ground, good load,
engine roaring......man what a Beast.
Tractor giving me problems.....also a 5 letter name beginning with B....

(quoted from post at 09:19:41 04/23/15) I bought an Oliver 88 in Archbold Ohio one time. Had a dealer decal from Napoleon Ohio,so I called in Josephine.

That sticker probably said Meineke's on it. I live 5 mile from Napoleon and 20 from Archbold. Was just over at Yoder and Frey last week.

I call Grandpas Oliver 77 Old Grandad. I call his H&R 12 gauge by the same moniker.
