Antique saw

I have this power hack saw that I've had for many years. It is just setting in the way so am thinking about selling but have no idea what it might be worth.the name on the saw is M F Company from Miller Falls Mass. The saw wights I'm guessing at least 300 pounds as it is mounted on a very heavy cast base. Hoping someone out there might recognize what it is and help put a value on it so I can list it for sale. It shows a patent date of 1892 on the casting. Thanks Larry

I've seen several sell for between 200.00 and 300.00 dollars. If I had space I would have bought the $200.00 one.

I go to sales alot and have only seen two . One was 25 bucks which I am still mad at myself for not buying. Yours looks like 150-200 dollars The beauty of them is it is about the only machine you can leave unattended to do work while you do other things . You can even set up the switch to shut itself off when the cut is done. If it was wire brushed and all cleaned up ,fresh paint and I was bringing it to the tool consignment shop I would tell them to ask 500 . Paint helps the price.{ or more like no rust helps the price.] Major selling point -- They don't have this at Harbor Freight . Hee hee. It's quite a nice saw.

Yes you can still get blades,at least heavy blades that will work. I still have 1 new blade. I am in central In. in case anyone is interested. I guess I need to clean it up and paint

Actually that isn't rust. It's a build up of grease with some paint dust from me painting Farmall tractors. Saw works good and shuts off by itself when done cutting. Does need a good cleaning though and probably new belts

I've got one just like it. Dust, over spray and all. I gave 15 dollars for it at a sale. I also am tired of working around it.

If you can find my email on my profile here, send me a note when you figure out what you want for it. I like old tools, have the room, and may want to fool with it.

have you ever thought of giving it to a historical society, or maybe a show with a display it would fit in? Then you take a hefty tax deduction to a charity. It goes to a good home, many people get to see it, and you come out looking good.

I'd just clean it up. oil it, and use it. It's probably made better than anything you can buy new for under $1,000. I built one using an old saw like that for a pattern and it's still working fine after 30 years.

It looks like a keeper. I have an old Atlas/Craftsman bandsaw. Cuts better than a friends chinese clone and I use it often. Abrasive chop saws harden the metal so sawing is better for something headed for a lathe or mill

Probably made by the Millers Falls Company. Excellent tools. I wouldn't sell it if it was me, but it's worth at least $250.00 around here if it's running.

My horizontal bandsaw is very old. It looks like the one on ebay. It has a 1 inch x 120 inch blade. On ebay mine is selling for around $1200. I use mine all the time, priceless.

See what you can find on ebay. If it works, use it.
