3010 Pictures

I have been working on a 3010 for a friend pretty much all winter, as much as my back would permit. Too many things done to list all but main items are:

Rebuilt and added wide front, Schwartz.
Added Weights rear and front.
Added ROPS and SMV.
Carburetor rebuilt and upgraded by Roberts Carburetor, they were very helpful.
Narrowed for 30" rows.
Added dedicated grounds for lights.
Cleaned fuel tank, replaced sender and added dedicated ground.
Rebuilt steering motor.
Rebuilt Oil Filter Relief Valve housing.
An on and on.

Anyway, thanks for all your help. Here are some pictures. In the picture of three tractors the center one is the 1962 3010, left is 1968 2510 with 145 loader, right is 1972 2520. Enjoy. Paul

Nice looking tractor. However, as I get older, I have come to appreciate the newer "open station" model utility tractors better. So much easier to get off & on.

Thank God, you've got a nice Deere there! I thought this might have been a thread from the far future! It's nice to know there'll still be Deeres and computers!

Nice pictures. The one showing the carburetor, has the manifold blocks placed for winter use supplying heat. Might want to change them for summer time.

Good eye. Robert's Carburetor suggested I set them this way because these tractors don't work hard in the summer anyway. Thanks for your comment. Paul

Beautiful! I own 2 3020s and think they are an extremly handy tractor to use. I have toyed with the idea of a 3010 at times. Do the gas 3010s make a pretty good chore tractor? I have heard so much bad about the gas 3020s I am gunshy of them. If they run close to the diesels it seems one would make a good winter chore tractor.

Lee, I don't have enough running experience with the gas 3010 or 3020 to comment. I have heard carburetor comments, good and bad. I understand they had two different carburetors, Marvel-S and Zenith. The Zenith is supposed to be easier to adjust and setup properly.

This tractor sat for some time and had big carburetor/fuel issues, it has a Zenith. The tractor would not run when I got it and leaked gas badly. The recommendation on this forum was to send it to Robert's Carburetor which I did. They were extremely helpful and not only re-built the carburetor but also machined in improvements made to it over time.

So far so good. Robert's set it up on their test stand for the 3010 engine, it started right up and starts well each time. I returned it to the owner and he has been chopping stalks with it, no complaints so far. He said it was running great. Time will tell. I did not upgrade it to electronic ignition but if there is any trouble with the ignition I will.
