this is a picture of one of the chinese tractors my brother and nephew bought, they bought three of them, one was damaged in the crate and they used some of it for parts, two are running good, diesel, 4wd,new but were sitting in a warehouse for quite some time. Now,,,,,heres what I need help thinking about,,,,my brother had an offer from someone who wants to buy it,,,,he said I could have it for 1500 dollars,he will bring it and the parts tractor to PA,I think he might have offerd because if it stays outside and the parts tractor too, they will deteriorate, and he knows I will keep it inside in PA. I have some pros and cons on the idea,,,,so here goes,,,,,pros,,,,,the tiller I have is a little too narrow for the Ford 2000,even with the back wheels sdjusted all the way in,,,the chinese tractor has a narrow wheel base,a really low 1st gear and a two speed pto..it should be good for the tiller?and I Have a one row 3 pt cultivator, the chinese tractor may be better with that than the Ford? I wouldnt have to plow or do anything to strenuos ,the Ford will keep doing that......Cons,,,,,,,Its Chinese,,,,I have spent plenty fixing up the buildings at the farm last fall,,,,I really dont (need ) another toy? Help me think on it?//,,,,,

Sounds useful, gives you an option if the Ford was ever down, (not likely LOL !) and it sounds just based on the seasonal use, the hours will be dedicated to only the certain tasks, + you have a parts tractor, fits the implements better, lower first gear, front axle drive, if you divided it over 5 years, inexpensive and maybe less changing of implements. Who knows about parts support, performance, but with limited use, it seems feasible, more good than bad unless its a lemon in disguise.

heres some more pictures
I took them this winter but both tractors are identical, diesel, 4wd,pwr stearing, two speed pto .8 spds,hi low shift ,

Larry,
Grab it quick and use it. You told me in an e-mail what he paid for them. Nothing to loose and they are more than likely a clone of a better known tractor.
You can buy BLUE paint at Wal-Mart and it will last forever!!!! HeHe.
Loren
I told you I would get even. July is looking good.

In the business of tractors, its called a throw away machine.
Parts will become scarce as hens teeth and if you can find them it will cost an arm and leg to maintain
Not always, but more than usual.

he did have to go get them, put them together out of crates and fix a few damages from previous transit,so he does have time involved in them,he is a really good mechanic,he would probably keep it,but my nephew is keeping one,,,and they have sooooo much stuff that the parts tractor and one of the tractors would end up outside, they are outside right now,,,

Personally I would buy it in a heart beat...

We have a little old Yanmar, and that thing is unstoppable!

For as little as it costs, and as little as you are going to use it, who cares??? Quality made or not, you could EASILY sell that for 4 or 5000 in a few minutes!!!

Buy it, and if it is trouble, or you don't like it, then dump it!!! Red looks pretty good next to blue too.... :)

Lets see. $1500 for a 4 wheel drive tractor.Small or not youllnever buy another tractor
for that kind of money and it be new and 4 wheel drive. I say work it till it breaks then
haul it to the scrap yard.

1500 wont even buy a lawn mower here in texas. Chinese or not even at a auction here that would bring 3000. I would give 1500 and run. for what little you will use it I say its a great deal

I've read all the posts and I have a litle different take on it. Sounds like your brother bought these partly to have a cheap tractor but also to maybe sell the two left-overs for enough to pay for the one he's keeping and it's repairs/upkeep etc. I say , and especially since you said you really don't "NEED" another little tractor , let him sell it to his buyer (probably more than you are giving him) and let him come out on the deal the way he may have originally planned. Everyone wins , a new owner who might actually need it , gets it , your brother has his probably paid for by the deal and you don't have to worry about what to do with it to justify having it. JMHO. RB

I don't really think there's anything to think about.. If your brother is happy selling it to you for $1500, jump on it.

Hi Larry, I need to agree with most of the others, get it, if it goes sour and can't find parts at least it wasn't a major investment, who knows might even be a diamond in the rough :>)

Larry, I feel sure that many others here, as well as myself, have been wondering just how good those Chinese products are. So now we have the chance to find out with a relative small investment. Buy it, use it, and report back to us as to how it does. I, personally, have not been overly impressed by the Chinese products, partly because, (according to my understanding), there is no reliable dealer base as of yet. Maybe I am wrong. But given a deal like that, I sure would be finding out how they perform in one big hurry!

If you bought it and you were the only one that operated it, the tractor would probably last quite awhile. If you loaned the tractor to someone else, all bets are off; they might abuse it thinking that it was made like other tractors. Think about that real hard.

I worked at a dealer that liked to sell the latest and greatest
imports. Belarus tractors were okay, except for clutches,
rhinos were completely junk with 0 parts available, agricats
were made in asia somewhere and had issues even getting
them off the truck (no joke). They did sell kioti, which seemed
alright in the smaller compacts. The bigger ones with cabs
were an electrical nightmare. Needless to say, I'd stick with
the ford.

Really boils down to how much of a gambler are you? I'd buy it with no expectation of buying any parts,so it might go 5 hrs,500 hrs or 5000 hrs.I bought a Zebra 3520 built in
India back around 2002 used it to mow hay and put around 1000 hrs on it than sold it a couple months ago for about what I paid for it.I lucked out it never needed anything other than filters and an injection line which I was able to find but I figured I was on borrowed time before I sold it.A guy actually had an ad in Lancaster Farming looking for one talk about LUCK!

I'd get it. Only con is you now have the parts tractor and when his breaks you are going to feel obligated to sacrifice YOUR spare parts. Maybe just maybe in time you could find parts and get the other one going too.

It would probably make your brother mad to do this, but if you talk yourself into buying it the first thing to do is sell or part out the parts tractor.

Otherwise you're stuck with the investment and storage of the spare parts he will want if his ever breaks down.

You might only get what the tires are worth but that might pay for most of the one you keep. Then use the one you have until it drops.

You have a use for it. You have the cash to pay with out it hurting you. I don't see a question.
Just because it is a no name Chinese product does not men it is automatically crap. The Chinese are not good at design so it is a knock off of another brand. Probably has common components on it like Bosch injectors etc that could be found with a bit of work.
I see no downside at all to getting it!

These are sold as Siromer tractors here.....You buy them in a crate and assemble them yourself just like your brother did.....There are a lot of them about, they are quite tough little tractors.....I sold a few Shire tractors which are sold on your side as Lenars...they have been real good......Sam

Couple more variables to throw in the pot.
What made the parts tractor a parts tractor?
Wore out, misuse, damage in shipping, other?
Will he use/abuse his more than you, yours,
which is to say, which one of you will be lookin' at the
parts tractor first?
No matter the brand, a lot of things can be fabricated/fixed
and those that can't be fixed are available to ONLY that brand.
The thing LOOKS sturdy enough, sittin' here in a swivel chair lookin' at a picture,
but there's probably a ton of moving parts in the thing.
Like the others have said, you can't buy a lawn tractor for 1500.

I am with the others, a brand new running 4WD tractor and a parts tractor both for $1500. Hard to lose on that deal as long as you got the $1500 to spare.

Even if it turns out to be a lemon with shortcomings that crop up after some use then you can use thae parts tractor to fix it and then sell it but at least you will have tried it out at minimum risk.

Hey Larry here are my thoughts. If I'm your brother I'm partially gifting some value to you. Therefore if I'm you I would never consider selling it to a third party. Good relations with a brother(I have none) are worth much more than $1500.
Tilling is great for small garden acres as you probably know but can be tough on tractor. Will be very interesting how it stands up. Depends alot on the organic matter and makeup of your soil; it wouldn't work on mine that's for sure. Same with the tires just too narrow.
Sure is something to think about, tough call and Good Luck with it!

Larry, I had one just about like it. Re-badged Jinma.
Climb on and off of it a few times to see if you can handle that.
The levers and garbage in the way was the deal killer for me.

On the other hand, I sold mine (with a loader) for 3 times that!
AT $1500 if you can get on and off it Ok you could join the throw
away society. You get an extra for parts? Bonus!

Parts are available from Affordable Tractor Sales in Texas.
Tommy and the family treated me well. Same day shipping on
just about everything I needed, plus some excellent advise and
knowledge. Didn't like the tractor, but can't say enough good
about the American company that helped me make it go!
