Potato Planting Gone Bad

These are some pictures taken by my older brother's wife back in 1989. This was in Shiloh Illinois.
I bought a potato planter to make planting season easier on our fruit
and vegetable farm. That's me on the tractor at age 29 my older brother on the planter (first time) My dad is watching. My mom with their
first grandchild my brother's son. We made it to the end of the first row and my brother released the depth/clutch lever. When he did this
the giant shoe/seed opener over powered him. The shoe sucked itself into the ground causing the planter to angle down in the front and
snapping off the old wooden tongue. It catapulted my brother up over the lever and he tried his best to clear the lever but got bruised down
below pretty bad. If he would of waited for me to stop all would of been fine. So be careful out there even with the old horse drawn
equipment converted to be pulled with a tractor. Luckily he had his first child and the second on the way...LOL He was fine though.
You can see some of the plum trees we had up toward the house.

No Dad was glad to see what we were doing actually. My brother was upset and tried to cuss but his voice was high pitched for a few minutes after the ordeal..
