Tree planting

Got this PHD for my compact tractor last summer along with four augers of various sizes. The only thing I could think this one would be good for is planting trees. Got my favorite pear tree and it is planted, I am not saying it will grow as it had very few viable roots.

That's awfully big, does it drag the tractor around the hole?

must take a fair amount of power. I run mine barely above an idle to reduce the possibility of tearing things up. I tend to find rocks an other undesirable stuff down there!

Be sure to add some Bone Meal or other root stimulator soon when you water your tree. If you can pull some dirt out and sprinkle some in below ground level the tree can get to it quicker..

Re think how you plant your garden. Instead of tilling the ground, I use PHD. Fill the hole with a blend of dirt, lime and horse poo from last year good stuff. Don't fill the hole all the way and just water the hole, not the weeds. Then I cover the ground with last years leafs to keep weeds from growing. At the end of the year, use the front loader to clean everything off. Put trash it in a mulch pile and cover garden with leafs in the fall.

You have what it takes to make gardening easy.

You can get rooting hormone from garden centers. Some are for starting cuttings but there are some for using when you plant. We used that in a row of cedars we planted in poor soil and everyone of them grew well.

Proper watering and the right fertilizer can do wonders for a tree that doesnt look that great.
You might be surprised.
