Had the wonderful experience to walk my daughter(step) down the Isle for her wedding. Unfortunately, only walked her half way and then handed her over to her real father, but still feel very grateful for the opportunity to be able to do this.

It was a great time. He mother (my wife) and her dad got along good and all went well. With all the mixed family's these days and the fighting that seems to go on, here was none of this for the 2 weeks we were down in Albuq. Wished we lived closer so as to spend more time with the wife's kids and grand kids.
Pics was just before we started down the isle. Cannot wait to see the pictures from the wedding photographer.

You clean up pretty good, Rusty! That is a great picture, of both of you. Bet it will end up on a wall or hearth.

That was a good way to handle the split family situation. My son married a girl who was raised by her mother and stepfather (bio father had skipped out when she was a baby, and had no further contact). Bio dad wanted to walk her down the aisle, and she just told him "XX has been the only father I have ever known, and has earned the right to walk me down the aisle. I'll do a father-daughter dance with you at the reception, but that's it." To his credit, he took it well, and didn't cause a disturbance (I believe she may have admonished him along those lines, also).

After a couple of "heart to hearts", they have re-established a relationship, which I'm happy to see.
 
I always laugh when people say " you clean up well" . But there is no denying you look like a fine gent with a fine lady .
 
I think that was a wonderful solution to what could have been a dicey problem. This farmer's ball cap off to whomever came up with that solution. Further hats off to all who buried animosity for the time, and let it not spoil a wonderful occasion for a bride and groom.
