IH B275 Diesel Smokes and Pops

Just brought her today. It is producing bluish/white smoke and poping out the exhuast. Poping is speratic but gets worse when I throttle it up. I'm thinking and injector. Also would like to know what the compression should be of this 144ci.

I bought a B250 many years back that had sat for 15 years. Put some fresh fuel and a quart of oil or ATF in the fuel can, shake it up and pour it in. Let the tractor run at a fast idle for half an hour and get good and warm. Next find some injector cleaner for Diesels and give it a treatment, use the injector cleaner more than once and if you can work the tractor on a harrow for half a day or just drive it around the yard, the more you use it the better it will run. White smoke at start up isn't an issue and when the engine reaches running temp it likely won't smoke. My tractor did everything you described until it got ATF and Injector cleaner added to the fuel. Check and make sure the air breather isn't restricted..you'll be fine !

You might have nailed it! I just fired it up and ran it around the yard for 20 minutes. After the first ten minutes I noticed the smoke clearing and only smoke when it popped. A few minutes later it cleared right out and ran smooth. I throttled it up and it seamed to smoke a bit more with some more pops. I think you right with the injectors. I will definetly try some injector cleaner and ATF. I rave read on here that there is a fix for the glow plugs. If someone could post a link I would appreciate. Thanks
