Went to get a parts tractor Sunday which included a ferry ride across Lake Champlain. It was a beautiful day but I don't think you'd want to put a small boat in quite yet...

My first experience with icy water was on a business trip to Boston. Had to go to Western Mass. for something else and crossed a fairly large river, frozen solid. Didn't see any ice shacks on it. Thanks, but you can have it.

It's a Jacobson G10 golf course tractor. It uses the Ford 172cu engine with a 4 speed trans and a truck rear axle. If it's geared like the older versions it would do 40mph.

That hit home. I once served on the aircraft carrier USS Lake Champlain. The ship no longer exists, it's been recycled through a steel mill.
