Have a JD 9300 tractor split. The bushings wore out and hole in the gudgeon needs to be welded up and line bored. It is 12 inches in diameter. Would anybody in the Western New York or nearby area know of somebody willing to this job with a good degree of acuracy?
I understand this will not be be cheap.

Well even after looking up the term in the dictionary I still had zero IDEA of what a "gudgeon" was. Looked it up in the JD parts site. I see it is the center pivot frame. Yes JD does call it the "gudgeon". I have never seen that term used.

As for your question. Is the bore your needing repaired the one that the main drive shaft and PTO shaft go through??? That is more of a line bored type repair. Look around and see if you have anyone that has the portable rig that they used to replace and machine the axle housings on big trucks. I know that machine can be set to machine/bore as well. They would be used to welding up bad housings where the wheel bearing have worn the spindle.

A gudgeon is the female hole that holds a pivot pin.
The holes in the end of a truck axle that holds a king pin is a gudgeon.
The hole in the arm of a excavator the holds the pin where pivots or the bucket mounts is a gudgeon.

A place that works on big excavators or front end loads may have the line bore capabilities or at least know where to go locally.

Gudgeon is also the term that Gleaner uses to describe the stub shaft on each end of the threshing cyl on their combines. Stub shaft bolts to the cyl, bearing mounts on the gudgeon. Allows for easy removal of the cyl from the housing.
