Whats a good place for lawnboy parts?

I've got 2 lawn-boys, 1 needs the brake cable so I can start the engine, and the other needs the air filter cover if I can get it running. The second one I picked up at the dump and it needs a new string on the recoil before I can try starting it, but it looks to be in good shape other than the missing air filter and cover.... No idea why that'd be gone but.... whatever.

Lawn-boy seems to be more or less extinct, and I know Toro is the owner of the rights, but any good online sights? The cable (92-9589) I found on Amazon for around $36. Not as much luck with the air filter housing(95-1709). Like I said, I gotta fix the recoil before I worry about an air filter, but if it runs the price is right to me...

On my toro with that stupid engine break, I took it off and threw it in the garbage can, I tack welded on a kill switch on the
gas tank support, you can see the switch in the second pic.
Then I turned the recoil sideways instead of having the rope to start it go all the way up to the handle bar, they make these mowers for the common idiot to use. Mine will stay running if you let go of the drive handle. If yours is the same don't bother with the brake cable.

It's not that I don't trust myself, it's that I have kids who someday I'm sure will want to run the lawnmower. I was 7 when I started and my oldest will be 5 this year. Maybe he won't be doing it when he's 7, but if I have this lawn mower I want them to be safe when around it. I can only teach so much to a child.

I dident mean any offense to you. Obviously you work around equipment, just trying to help, no idea you wanted it for your
kids, I also started at 7 with old 80s mowers, iv got all my fingers and toes! Lol

Not offended. Also don't particularly want my kids doing it, but I know what I was like as one, so I expect him to want to help at some point. I also remember tying a string around the bail when I was 8...

I've had good luck with RepairClinic.com, 1 800 289 2609, they have parts, repair videos and help if you need it. I
have a 2002 Craftsman rider that needed a drive belt, called Craftsman-sent wrong belt, Repair clinic sent correct one
at better price, with one year return, no questions. I'll be calling them soon for my broken Lawnboy.

I have another one for you by neenah,Wi if interested. Made one good one out
of two for a customer. Shortblock was good last fall. May have the cable you
need on it. Sitting in front of my shop. Come and get it.

I might just have to take you up on that offer. I really don't knew how it started but right now I've got 3 push mowers and 2 snowblowers. 1 mower will run with a new cable, the other I have no idea and my dad's busted husky.

One snowblower is my 32" Areins that runs really good, and the other is a craftsman that an older guy just put on the curb today as I was driving and he gave me a gas leaf blower to boot.... I think I have a new hobby...

Don, there is a big following of Lawn-Boys.
My first was a 6.5 HP rear wheel self propelled that I bought
at a garage sale for $20.00 Took the carb apart about 3 times before
I got it running. Ran it for years and have since picked up another and a parts
machine. Best lawnmowers I have ever had!
I know somewhere there is a very active discussion site.
For parts, you will find everything you need on e-bay; always tons of stuff there!

Hey jd- I'll gonna be out and about this weekend sometime making a hay delivery out towards Greenville. If you're around I'd swing by and check out that mower.
