Tractor parts shipping question

I sold a guy some heavy tractor parts a while back and he never came and got them or had them shipped. He was about 1000 miles from me . I got tired of them sitting here so I sent him a letter need to be picked up by this certain date. He got a freight company to come pick them up .The freight company called me this morning and said they tried six times to deliver to him they said they needed my permission to ship them back to me but I would have to pay shipping. I said no way am I going to pay shipping . What do you think the freight company will do with the tractor parts?

They will load them in a trailer and ship them to one of their large terminals.
Once they have several loads the whole trailer will be auctioned off.
Often site unseen as some do not even allow you to open the door and look inside.

The trailers are full mostly of damaged freight but non-deliverable also gets mixed in.

I guess, I'd try to contact him and let him know the shipping company is looking for him just out of courtesy. but I assume the shipper probably has his contact information the same as you? As far as paying the shipping back, yes, if the parts are valuable maybe. Otherwise not. If the parts are on his end they should be able to be delivered there somehow unless the man has died or something and even then, somebody should be in charge. Try to help the shipper figure it out if you can. It appears you are their only good contact.
