Just looked at a little CaseIH 284 at my local dealership. Not much to it, it's 4X4 diesel with a loader. Tach says 1700 hrs but don't know if it's correct. Except for the loader rams leaking didn't see much in the way of oil leaks. They're only asking $500 more than it cost new almost 40 years ago. Wondered if someone could tell me if this is a good tractor. Understand it is a Komatsu manufacturer with a Nissan diesel engine.

Made in Japan with a Nissan engine. Normally those little Japanese built tractors are very durable.
Really were (are) well built tractors. Only thing I know is there are NO parts available for the steering sector if you have trouble there. Know a guy that spent quite a bit of time and effort getting his steering sector repaired. Finally ended up using some parts from a car sector some way. They still bring pretty good money around the auctions when they show up.
