have a chance to buy a remote for $275 plus shipping pictured. will this work as well as my pto pump so I can free pto. I'm afraid the remote wont work as fast or wll be slow. Also how does this work if you mount it on top of tranny behind seat(mf-65). There must be some kind of pump it hooks up to

My FIL had a MF 65 back in the 60s with one of these on it. Tractor wasn't very old and the valve was new. As I recall, there is a plate on top of the transmission that you remove and replace with this valve. Under the plate is a tube that goes down to the pump. in the tractor and that's where the hydraulic fluid comes from to run one external cylinder with this valve. After you take the plate off everything has to be clean, and use new O rings when you put it on. Hoses just hook to the valve with the proper fittings and then you have to figure out how the levers work. As I recall, one lever is to go from internal to external Hydraulic and the other operates the external cylinder. Ask your question down on the M F board, those guys can help you.

The flow rate of the internal pump on a 65 is 4.2 gallons per minute. What is your pto pump rated at? You can replace the steering arms on top of the spindles with the newer, shorter style and use a front pump.

That's what I have on my 65. It goes under the seat with lever between your legs. Mine works good. The thumbscrews on the back determine 1 way or 2 way hydraulics.
