Farmall 460D starting issue.

Hello. I recently bought a Farmall 460D. It needed a injector pump overhaul, so I had it done at a shop that specializes in that. We put the pump on and timed it, but it seems to lose its prime after sitting for a couple hours. It doesn't have any fuel leaks. When it does eventually start it runs great. But we don't get any smoke when we first try starting it. Which tells me that its not getting fuel. Had the tank off to be sure it was clean, changed the filters, made sure all the lines were clean/clear. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Joe.

if you were not careful installing the pump you may have damaged the out side seal on the pump driveshaft. this will cause it to leak into the pan.

The return fuel elbow has a small check ball in it. Make sure its intact. A throttle shaft seal can leak and draw air and not leak fuel which makes for long cranking. I've also seen return fitting gummed up at bottom of tank.
