Well, we made it through the auction. Weather was descent, but windy. The big eqt did not do so well. Here are a few of the results:

1981 JD 7720 Combine w/24'Grain Platform & 3100 Hrs - $6500.00 (Biggest disappointment)
1979 JD 6600 Combine w/20'Grain Platform & 4400 Hrs - $2600.00 (Maybe 2nd disappointment)
1976 White 2-135 w/8000 Hrs - $6500.00 (I bought it back, it was way too nice)
Gravity Wagon- $3600.00
Grain Cart - $4500.00
1954 JD 60 Restored - $7100.00 (That's right! Family tractor but only one bidder was a family member)
1948 Ford 8N - $1750.00
1951 D Case - $300.00 (Wasn't advertised and was not running)
The tillage did way better than expected.
Trailer load of Antique Tractor Parts did very well.
All in all it was a good enough sale. I am OK with the prices, but would have liked to see the combines and trucks do better. If we would have had 2" of rain in the last couple of days I think more hands would have come out of their pockets. Glad it's over. Thanks a lot for the well wishers.

Low hours for sure on the 7720 but still a 32 year old unit. Just not a lot of market for that age combine. I think it probably brought a little more than it would have at a consignment sale. Have seen some sell this spring for 4500 to 5000 . Folks tend to believe the hours when they buy on the farm but a t consignment take it for what ever it is;

Boy, I wish I could have been at your auction. I know that Case D would have sold for more than $300, even if it did not follow me home.

I agree with your remarks about your first three items . All three would have brought twice what you got if the sale had been held here in South Ontario. I have seen folks pay well for "off the farm" equipment here. You did the right thing buying the White back. Bruce

Bob,thanks for the results....I'm guessing that your 2-135 White and the JD combines would sold for about those prices in my area, maybe just a little more....Even though we have moisture no ones very optimistic with the low grain prices...

On Friday there was a sale about 25 miles from me with a 8630 JD,4430 JD,and a 1980 model 8820 JD with 25 ft header and 3200 engine hours..Also was a 70 JD and B JD tractors....I didnt go so dont know how things sold..I'll show a link to the sale bill..
Cooper Sale

Actually, the combine prices and 2-135 price are in line for this area. Good commodity prices until recently have seriously hurt the value of older Deere combines. Guys want 9000 series combines now and a lot have the money to buy them.

I would think you got a fair price for the 7720, A friend bought a 7720 with the header for $3000 , he picked all his corn with it the last 2 years.
