New Runnings farm store

North of me they are advertising a new "Runnings" store soon to open. There is also 2 of them already in NY- one east of me and one west of me. I have never been in any of them and just curious what to expect- are they similar to TSC? Do they carry a good variety of farm supplies and parts or about like TSC. Back a few years TSC and Central Tractor both were pretty good for fence supplies, plow parts flat and roller chain etc. TSC mostly left this area and came back when CT closed, building several new stores, We were all a little dissapointed with the newer TSC compared to what we remembered from before.

I really like the Runnings in Gloversville NY. They are sort of the Bass Pro shop of farm and outdoor supplies. Lots of cool stuff in various sections plus all the tractor related stuff you need. Huge area deticated to tools and they have neet ways of displaying things.
You will like them. Plan on sepending a coupple of hrs. there the first time. They don't have Wal Mart prices on everything, but very good quality stuff.

Sure wish there was a Runnings in Nebraska. As of now we have to drive 120 miles to Winner, or 180 to Rapid. Then again we are 40 miles to the nearest grocery store, and Wal-mart is 120.

I went to the one in Rome a couple weeks ago and like others said, it puts TSC to shame.
That said, I used to live in Wisconsin and I went to Fleet Farm for farm stuff. Runnings has pretty much the same stuff but I decided I probably won't go back because their prices are nothing like Fleet Farm. I make a trip to Wi. once a year, and make it a point to have a list with me. I don't require the farm stuff anymore like I did when I was on the farm in Wi. Example I bought 250 ft. of 12'2 WG, NMC at runnings $65 Lowes $55. If I lived closer I would probably go to Runnings once in a while

Runnings is good but not great (Mills Farm and Fleet is GREAT). We have a Runnings store and a TSC. Maybe walk into TSC twice a year and they generally don't have what I want. Closest Mills Farm and Fleet is 80 miles away and will drive over for something I know Runnings wont have.

Yes the ones that live in Fleet Farm country are spoiled and where I live we have great JD dealers also. Jim

Runnings main office and original store is a ways west of me.

Good stores, better than TSC. Have a Runnings local in my town, since the 70s.thry moved 3 times, bigger store each time.

The town 1/2 hour east of me just opened a Mills Fleet and Farm last week, now those are mega stores!

But Runnings is good farm store.

The Runnings in Canandaigua NY has about 10 times as much variety as any TSC.

They don't have a huge selection of tractor parts, but they have just about everything else. They have a whole aisle of hydraulic fittings, hoses, cylinders and parts vs. TSC's 6' of shelf space.

In fact for most anything that TSC has a 6' section of shelf dedicated to, Runnings has a whole aisle. There's an entire WALL of grain scoops vs. TSC's whopping selection of one.

What sets them apart is they have many items on the shelf that you'd normally have to go to a specialty store, or online, for.

Just watch the prices. Some things are more expensive than other places, and some are less.
