Bought a JD 1530

This week I purchased a JD 1530 from the local dealer. I'm pretty excited. The price was fair and with the exception of a small leak from one of the 3ph arms, play in the steering and worn paint, I'm hoping to have good luck this tractor. It was a one owner (college) and came with a pretty extensive service history. I can't get over how tight it shifts, the motor sounds good too. Of course always little odds and ends such as a new seat and muffler, but that will come in time.

Regarding the steering, the bellcrank seems pretty worn. Instead of replacing it, is it possible to remove it and weld a bushing on it/to it that will tighten up the pin? Also, from your experience is it much of a job to change?
Regarding the small leak from the 3ph arm, there is quite a bit of play in it, can that be shimmed??

Got a 1520 diesel that has been to he!! And back. Still going. Just serviced it for the summer.

1530's have 2 needle brgs or 2 bushings(parts key 1) for the bellcrank. One needs to lower front axle to R&R brgs/bush. Oil leak is L/D control shaft which needs to be repaired as it will only get worse which could result in loosing most of the hyd oil which is about 8 gallons.

the bell crank pin can be bought at A&I.. you have to press the old one out and new in..I make mine from chrome shaft

A&I number is A-93358S

The parts book will show the lower link bushings and seals where the leak and play maybe occurring from? The parts page is well hidden that shows the bushings and shaft . Check the corrosion inhibitor in the coolant, I didn't say freeze protection but the corrosion inhibitor. If it's low you will soon be in the market for new sleeves. The tractor is pretty much a 1130 by another name.
