Anyone else read this and come to the conclusion that the problems that the people in this story are having, Don't have a thing to do with the Williston job market.

No clue.

Oh heck yes. This is nothing more than a chronicling of 3 complete simpletons, showcasing their horrific decision making capabilities and the resulting misfortunes. I would bet that if any of these idiots had actually gotten a job, it would be short lived due to the fact that it would require ACTUAL WORK. They weren't looking for work, they were looking for a handout.

Ya just gotta laugh at them. So poor and so broke, but still got money to buy fourty three dollar cigarettes and have the latest cell phones and eat good meals three times a day. Wish I could live like that, unfortunately I have to actually work for a living. I have always been able to find a job within fourty eight hours after I started looking for one. I took a year off after I got divorced. Got bored and decided to go back to work one morning. Picked up the want ads and made two calls. Four hours later I had a job.

You know we laugh and laugh at this kind of story, but it's becoming more and more true of the direction this country is headed. Wasn't there a saying that countries fall from within rather than from armies attacking from outside??

I live in Williston, and there are so many jobs available here yet, even with the drilling decline, they may not pay 100k a year, but you would have to look hard to find one that pays less than $15 an hour, most entry level Wal-Mart, restaurant, fast food places even start you at $17 an hour. Biggest drawback is the cost of housing, they are putting up apartment buildings by the dozens, but rents are still in the $2000-$3000 a month range. You need a few roommates to come up with that much. A room in one of the man-camps will cost about $800 a week. There are several new eating establishments opening in the next couple weeks, and a new Menard's coming on line shortly, as well as several other businesses. They will all need employees, so the jobs are out there, you just have to want to work..

Notice how they all smoke! They seem to have money for cigarettes, like so many beggars on the street corners. Maybe if they didn't stink like smoke it would be easier to find a job.

There seems to be an underclass of people that always have money for beer, cigarettes, tattoos and lottery tickets, but nothing else. See them every time I stop to get gas.
