I was planning on going to the tested bull sale today to buy two good Angus bulls, but I was looking on CL the other day just for the heck of it and found an ad for 3 young registered Angus bulls, top pedigrees, soundness exams, the whole nine yards, for $2500 each. They were just over an hour from home,so I went yesterday afternoon and got two of those. That freed up a Saturday.
Last night,I spotted a Yamaha Moto4 on CL,"nice for it's age". Mine's beat right in to the ground,so I went down this morning and bought that.
I think I need to stay off that site for a while now. I got two things I needed, but if I keep it up,I'll branch out in to things I DON'T need. lol

Some call it CLA (craig list addiction). I may have it!
Some of the best bargains I have bought were off CL. Just drove 40 miles to look at an Echo CS330t chainsaw. Guy had bought it three years ago, used 3 tanks of gas and then stored it. Would crank and idle but wouldn't accelerate. Bought it for $80.00.
This is just one of many items.
I also have had good results selling items.
You just have to be especially careful and suspicious of stolen items.
Many times, when I make or get a phone call or message and I am suspicious of the person, I tell I am not interested or its sold.
Its also a good idea to meet in a public place--if possible?

Yeah, my grandkids discovered my old model train set a few years ago. We got onto flea-bay and discovered that there are, on any given day for that particular brand of train, 3,000 to 5,000 items for sale..................................

What size moto 4 did you get? A friend gave me one a few years ago that is a 200 I think. Hadn't run in years and was pretty sad looking, plastic hanging off etc, but mostly there. New plugs and cleaned fuel tank, fixed rope start and it fired up. Got electric start working and it is a great irrigating, errond 4 wheeler. I think it is an 82. would love to find an operator's manual for one.

This one's a yellow 1986 225. My old one's a blue 200. Except for the color, they look identical. At least I've got a lot of parts here from the old one if I need anything. The float sticks a little on the one I just bought,so I might take the carb off the old one and put that on it if this one doesn't get better after I run it some.

I used to race a blue moto 200, with a small super charger system on it...

That thing was an ANIMAL! LOVED it... Totaled it out pretty badly though, so took the goodies off it and stuff it on something else.... Bryce

Like I said,I'm running out of needs and afraid I'll start buying wants. That's where a person gets in to trouble.

Since your on a roll get on the Flint Craig's list. You can buy my trailer or the wagon gear I got listed.
Buy them both and I'll put the gear on the trailer and bring them to you.

Years ago (about '88 or '89) my son brought a Traders' Post home, I saw a '86 350 Yahama Moto 4 in it for a good price, $1350. It wasn't far away, as we turned in the drive someone else turned in right behind us. The atv was sitting by the road, well maintained, looked like new. I bought it and the other guy went "aw shucks". It's has hi and low range, 10 speeds, only thing I fixed on it all these years is a new starter and tires.

And those are the two things that this has new.
I had to put a new starter on my old one a few years ago too. It quit working and when I took it off it was full of oil. I guess a seal went bad and let it fill up.

LOL!

Yep, late last summer found us that 109 Cub Cadet. Runs well and we are glad we bought it. But in only happened because I was "window shopping" on Craig's List. :)

I scan the local CL a few times a day and make money on some items. With scrap prices low i am seeing a lot of old tractors in the valley for sale.

What happened? I was going to post a pic of my Moto 4 but the format changed. It now says "select gallery photo" (instead of "upload photo"). when I click on that I'm out in left field. Then I tried "browse" which got me to my file, when I previewed the picture it was H-U-G-E! Ugggg, something changed!

That's odd. I just clicked on it to see what you were talking about and mine's all messed up too.

I found the problem G-man. I asked down below. Scroll on down to the bottom of the Advanced Postings box. It says Browse at the bottom of it.

My wife tells me all the time to stay off CL too. LOL I check CL everyday multiple times. The only 2 area I go are the farm and garden ad the atv/utv section. I have sold a lot of items on CL with great success. I just weed out the scammers.

Looks like you have to go down to the bottom of the box and click on Upload Photos, then click on Browse and open your pictures, select a pic and click on open and the pic will come up.

Ya,those are the two I've been checking, and occasionally cars and trucks then narrowing it down to F250s. I wouldn't turn down a regular cab long box 4x4 to put my flatbed on of my old diesel.

Yehbut, I can get a picture on here but when I preview it, it's GINORMOUS! If I submit it it will make the page about 3x the regular size width! I looked and don't see a way to downsize them.

Lmao , My name is Mike and im a craigslist crack junky. I love Craigslist im on it everyday several times a day looking for deals i dont even need or want. Just within the last 2 weeks i bought a 100 foot roll of 2x4 wire 48 tall brand new 35 dollars, then a 50 gallon finco sprayer with a 3.5 gas motor on it. motor didnt run for 50 dollars. I cleaned the carb cranked it right up runs like a champ. The funniest thing was last summer i saw a sears riding mower just like mine .I thought o cool a parts mower 100 dollars. The guy even brought it to me. I cranked it up washed it up and hell it was better than mine so i junked mine. LOL.

My wife says I spend too much time looking at the boat ads there. I don't know why she's complaining, I only have four boats and twelve outboards (not counting the ones that don't run).

I don't know. I tried it on the test forum. I thought I had loaded four pictures. The last one was huge, but when I posted them, only two showed up and they were normal sized. Gonna take some experimenting I guess.

I have problems posting photos also. I save all photos to my photos in documents. No problems posting in any of the other forums I visit.
On YT sometimes they load ok, other times they say document has to end in jpg-and many other ???
Just finally gave up posting photos on this site.

Crack-list yes I am addicted... :D

My wife had a stroke and it paralyzed her on one side in 2011 so I my funds were limited dealing with her issues so I had to kick the habit... I managed to stay Crack-list free for quite awhile..

After she passed i was able to stay off crack-list until a Bud was looking for a nice tool box... I spend a few hours look'N for him a tool box and had a recurrence next thang you know I an addicted on crack-list again...

To pay my bud back I am the reason he picked up the addiction... About once a mouth are maybe every other we line up our Crack-list finds and take a day and go get'em... Crack-list is a good way to bond with a bud its like in the good old days when you would buy a 5th and ride around all day...

Around the end of last year I hit quite a few home runs and sold allot of stuff myself... I found a nice set of aluminum wheels for my Honda on Crack-list when I made the call I talked to a guy that scared the ell out of me and not much scares me... His voice was deep and ruff he was blunt and to the point... He said if I did not have the cash and not coming to get them that day to go to ell and not waist his time... I like a challenge so put my gun in my pocket and went by myself.. So I pull up to the hose and beep my horn and a kid comes out I said I am the guy that called about the wheels he replied and it was that bad arse I talked to on the phone  He was a midget about 3 1/2 foot tall... He turned out to be a nice guy... I have meet quit a few nice folks on my Crack-list runs its not all bad...

Got to be careful of CL... heard of a pregnant women who answered an ad for baby clothes, alone (dumb!). The woman killed her and cut the unborn child from her, then took it to the hospital claiming she had a miscarriage. Just happened last week. I southern Ohio a few years ago a guy was posting ads for a farm worker, guys would answer the ad and meet on the "farm" and get killed and robbed.

Be safe out there!

Not just on CL but happens with newspaper ads, farm equipment, and auto trader.
But, I agree--need to be cautious on any form of for sale items, just more cautious on CL.

Partly true. The woman that was cut DID survive, and is expected to recover. The one that cut her is on her way to jail - hopefully for a LONG time.
