No shoes and if not careful he will be minus a finger if he gets it between pulley and cog belt on cam drive.

They are neat! I can just guess how many hours of time it takes to make one of these. By the way... Where is the damn water pump?? You can only run it for a minute or two.

I noticed he had two tanks, so I think the bottom one was the cooling tank. I am guessing it is just a thermosyphon system.

Look at the lower left in front, looks like a belt drive pump to me.

At first I thought the thing in the lower left was the starter but you may be right. Its hard to tell if the green (water) lines hook to it or not as they do not show that side of the engine.
