OT-Stair climbers

Anyone have experience with powered stair climbers, (for grandparent). You know powered seat that carries a person up & down.
Am wondering about company called SpinLife.

We got one for my MIL. Problem was that by the time she needed it she didn't have the wherewithal to operate it. It was, however, the only way the nurse could get her to and from her bedroom. We leased, rather than bought, and sure enough within a month of installing it she died. There has to be some electric power near the stairs. They screw straight into the stair treads. There were, of course, screw holes in the treads afterward but when filled they were hardly noticeable to prospective house buyers.

I am a trustee at our local Elks, lodge was built in 1863 so no handicap access. We installed two, can't remember the name. They are battery operated, don't need a dedicated electrical circuit, just a place to plug in the charger. Since we are open to the public they have to be inspected periodically. They have made our building accessible to many people, and have been very reliable.

yes They are just a starter motor hooked to a gear track. Think a long straight fly wheel. The battery charges on normal 110 volt AC. Some safety sensors to keep from running over things. The leasing company will have it paid for in 3 years. If it is purchased for a home you are not normally required to have annual inspections. I recommend them.

I had one installed in August. I recently had a hip joint replacement. I am home again & without it I wouldn't be able to climb steps. If you need it, get it. You won't be sorry.
