F 12 correct spark plug

Its me again!

The F 12 that I recently purchased has autolite
3076 spark plugs in it that look to be like new.

Does anyone know if that is the correct plug?

If I remember correctly the gap in my manual said
to use .022. I am thinking that the head has been
shaved cause it sure has a lot of compression. What would happen if I used a larger gap. I have good spark that easily jumps 1/8 of an inch.

For those of you that don't know, I am trying to get it to start with the crank. My wife pulls me to get it started and I now have her trained to take the slack out of the chain before she takes off.

Again, thanks for your comments.

Yes, that is the correct spark plug. Some folks claim the autolite 3077 is better, but the 3077 is a different type of plug. It is not just 1 step hotter than the 3076. I don't know if the 3077 is even available anymore.

Bee, As rusty said below 3077 was old plug can't get them anymore. autolite 3076 should be fine or chanp W-20. I gap to .25 Did you try a small tank to the carb. and see how it starts than?

I will try the small tank and see what happens. I do see gas coming out of the gas line at the carb when its disconnected so I know the pump is
getting it that far while cranking.

Thanks for your help guys.
