I am still learning this, tried to get the whole CL page but couldn't figure it out then it put 4 pics of the M. Then redid it and now get 2 pics of the 9n, can't win for losing! LOL

I have seen that several times on the old Fords. I guess they are hoping they can get more money for a John Deere ?

Maybe the person who painted the M was using up whatever rattle can paint that they had?

Maybe that Ford only ran on 2 cylinders so they painted it green?

Patriotic M? When I was a kid a WW2 vet neighbor of ours drove around in a late 40's Buick straight 8 that he had painted red, white, and blue.

I have a farmall C and a Jubilee. Painted both a few years back. Used about a half gallon paint on each tractor, used hardeners too. If I ever paint the Jubilee over again, I plan to replace the ford red with IH red. Will leave the tin gray. I get a chuckle when people think everything has to be OEM colors. Like it really going to change the value that much on old working tractors that are going to get dirty, scratched and dented.

I don't think so .It is John Deere owners that want a tractor that will realy do work, and want to fool people into thinking it is a Deere.

I admire people that are bold enough to paint their tractors sum colour other than original.
A few years ago a guy in the area painted his Cockshutt purple. The purist would have a hissy fit, but the purple tractor won a lot of tractor pulls. So I guess the purple paint didn't have any effect on how it ran.

Brown Swiss, you can only click once when you select photo and wait for thumbnail image to pop up then hit continue. I have had the double image problem too and my wife say's I'm click happy! It was only a few years ago I started using a computer and sometimes I want to throw it out the window! Lol,Greg.

Either patriotic or the Case, IH and Ford colors,
was wondering that. Kind of neat they merged and was
red white and blue.

I'll always be kicking myself for trading that 1020 Deere for an Oliver 500 before I could paint the Deere Oliver green and clover white. I even had a couple of Oliver serial tags here that I was going to put on the tractor and the engine.
I planned to put Oliver 1265 decals on it and change the front emblem to an Oliver shield badge off a 1600 parts tractor. I even had a good story about how Deere came to Oliver begging for a decent utility after the 1010/2010 disaster, then Deere bought the tooling and took it to Manheim after the White debacle.
If I ever find a cheap 1020 or 2020 at an auction,I'll still do it. It's revenge for all the Oliver Super 55's I've seen painted JD green with yellow wheels.

That is not a bad idea. I told the old guy there is not going to be any more JDs on the farm, now I will have to get one, thanks for the idea. LOL

This is the first and only tractor I have ever painted with a rattle can. All cans of paint came out of the same lot of paint.

All the sheet metal, fenders, wheel weight, front wheels, and front hitch were painted off the tractor. Almost everything was put back on with stainless steel bolts an washers. It's along way from perfect but it looks a lot like they did when they came from the factory.I know of several guys that spend a bundle for a paint job that is far more superior than they came from factory with.

Very nice job...

It all comes down to proper PREP and plenty sanding and more Wet sanding..

If I want a very nice job, I will Wet-Sand one finish coat down to primer to get that smooth surface, more if it needs it before the "Finish" goes on..

This done, you will not need a "Clear Coat"..
Ron.
